8-year-old from Mooresville, NC gears up for BMX world championships



Chase Reynolds will compete against riders from around the world this summer as one of the youngest riders representing the United States.

MOORESVILLE, N.C. β€” An 8-year-old BMX star from Mooresville, North Carolina has earned a spot on Team USA. Chase Reynolds will compete against riders from around the world at a major racing event this summer.

Reynolds won his place on the team during a competition in Florida. He’s already won several big races in the U.S., including two national championships.

β€œI’m super excited to race for Team USA!” said Reynolds. β€œIt’s a dream come true and I’ve been training really hard. I can’t wait to compete against the best riders in the world!”

The competition in Denmark, called the UCI BMX World Championships, brings together the best riders from different countries. Chase will be one of the youngest riders representing the United States.

Reynolds started riding BMX bikes as a toddler, his family said. 

His family and local supporters are cheering him on as he gets ready for this big opportunity.
