The Hornets are 19-56 and have been eliminated from the playoffs.
CHARLOTTE, N.C. β Charlotte Hornets guard LaMelo Ball underwent arthroscopic surgery on his right ankle and right wrist at a New York hospital, the team announced Wednesday.
Ball is expected to make a full recovery and return to basketball activities within four to six weeks, according to the team.
The procedures ended Ball’s 2024-25 season with 10 games remaining on the Hornets’ schedule. The 22-year-old was having the best statistical season of his career, averaging 25 points and 7 assists per game, but appeared in only 47 contests.
This marks the third consecutive season that ankle problems have sidelined Ball for significant time. He previously underwent surgery on the same ankle in 2023 and has missed at least 25 games in each of the past three seasons.
The Hornets, under first-year head coach Charles Lee, have struggled with injuries throughout the season and currently hold a 19-56 record.
