Thielen caught 48 passes for 615 yards receiving and scored five touchdowns in 2024.
CHARLOTTE, N.C. β A major piece of the Carolina Panthers offense will return next season as the team continues to be active in free agency.
Wide receiver Adam Thielen will return for a third season with the Panthers after reworking his contract, sources told ESPN on Wednesday. The terms of the new deal have not been released. It will be Thielen’s 12th season in the league.
Thielen missed seven games with injuries in 2024 but led the team in receiving yards (615) and touchdown receptions (5) and finished second on the team in receptions (49).
In 2022, Thielen’s first year with the Panthers, he caught 103 passes for 1,014 yards receiving.Β
The first nine years of Thielen’s career were spent with the Minnesota Vikings, where he was selected to two Pro Bowls and scored 55 touchdowns.
Thielen has been a favorite target for quarterback Bryce Young in his two seasons.Β
The contract move shows that the Panthers are ready to pounce on any opportunity to maximize the team’s production. Carolina has signed several defensive free agents and resigned a few players.
The Panthers are looking to improve on their 5-12 record from 2024 that featured wins in two of the season’s last three games and three heartbreaking losses to playoff teams.
