Charlotte FC gets a home draw | July 5, 2025

Orlando City SC, the same team that ended the black and blue’s playoff run in 2024, was in town.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. β€” Last week, Charlotte FC faced a rough loss on the road against Chicago Fire, one in a series of road losses that kept piling on. This week, the black and blue came back home at Bank of America Stadium to host Orlando City SC, the same team that ended their 2024 MLS playoff run.

The match ended not in a win, but not in a loss either. That’s right, it ended in a 2-2 draw.

Charlotte midfielder Pep Biel found the net first at the 40-minute mark, kicking it in with an assist from fellow midfielder Nick Scardina. Orlando didn’t have a response before the break, meaning Charlotte was up by a goal at halftime.

Biel would have a hand in the next goal for the black and blue, helping defender Bill Tuiloma kick it in for a 2-0 game 65 minutes in. But Orlando City had a reply just minutes later; striker Ramiro Enrique scored a goal with help from midfielder MartΓn Ojeda, putting the visiting team on the board and within striking distance.

And strike they did. Marco Paőalić, a midfielder, kicked it in for Orlando at the 80-minute mark, with an assist from Luis Muriel. With no response from Charlotte after 90 minutes and an additional eight minutes of stoppage, the match ended in a 2-2 draw. Both Charlotte and Orlando City add one point to their MLS standings.

Charlotte FC is home again on Saturday, July 12, hosting New York City FC. Kickoff at Bank of America Stadium is slated for 7:30 p.m. Eastern.
