Two florists have planted new life into this colourful 1970s home.

The home
A two-storey, five-bedroom 1970s brick home in Melbourneβs south-east.
Who lives here
Steven Maccora and Peter Diamantopoulos, florists and owners of Le Salon Aux Fleurs in Armadale, with their dog Marley and cat Lucia.
What we did
βWe painted, changed the flooring and lighting, upgraded the old laundry to a larger scullery, re-purposed the kitchen cupboards, gutted and renovated the upstairs bathroom and planted a garden,β says Maccora.
Our favourite room
βI love the living room as itβs the best place to relax and feel at peace,β says Diamantopoulos, βwhile Steven loves cooking and creating in the kitchen.β
The βhood
βPeter and I both grew up in the area and we both loved this house as kids,β says Maccora. βWe paddle-board and take Marley for walks at the nearby beach.β
Future plans
βThereβs one spare room upstairs weβre yet to decorate, but not a lot else as the garden is now complete,β says Maccora.
Best advice
βFollow your style, not fashion, and collect things you will cherish forever,β says Maccora.
