RFK Racing unveils new memorial for NASCAR legend Greg Biffle

CONCORD, N.C. — RFK Racing unveiled a new tribute to legendary NASCAR racer Greg Biffle this week, honoring Biffle’s extensive career with the team. 

Biffle and six others, including his wife Cristina and his two children, were killed in a plane crash at Statesville Regional Airport last month. The cause of the crash remains under investigation. 

RFK Racing posted photos of the display on social media, along with a few highlights from Biffle’s career. The display includes the No. 16 career Biffle drove to earn Ford’s 1,000th NASCAR victory in June 2013, plus a special tribute to his impact off the track. Biffle spent the majority of his NASCAR career with RFK Racing, winning championships in the Craftsman Truck Series and what is now the O’Reilly Auto Parts Series. 

“The team at RFK Racing is devastated by the heartbreaking passing of Greg Biffle and his family,” a sign at the museum reads. “As a person, family man and driver, his accomplishments helped form a cornerstone of our organization. He was simply one of the best. Greg and his family will forever hold a special place in our hearts.”

A public remembrance event honoring the victims of the plane crash is scheduled for Friday, Jan. 16, at Bojangles Coliseum. The service will also be livestreamed for fans and friends who aren’t able to attend. The event will honor all seven people killed in the crash: Greg Biffle, his wife Cristina, his children Emma and Ryder, Craig Wadsworth, Dennis Dutton and his son, Jack Dutton.
