A parkwide fire ban has been issued in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park until further notice.Β
The ban comes amid an elevated fire danger this weekend due to dry conditions and forecasted high winds, park officials said. All campfires and charcoal use will be banned until further notice on both the Tennessee and North Carolina sides of the park.Β
A Red Flag Warning has been issued for the area as well.Β
