CHARLOTTE, N.C. β Charlotte FC is off to the best start of a season in the franchise’s young history. They are anchored by reigning MLS Goalkeeper of the Year Kristijan Kahlina in goal. He finished the 2024 season with 121 saves and 12 shutouts. This season, he has two shutouts and has allowed six goals through the opening six matches.
Kahlina led WCNC Charlotte sports director Nick Carboni and WCNC sports anchor/reporter Danielle Stein through a rigorous goalkeeper training to show what goes into preparation before matchdays.Β
On Saturday, April 5, Charlotte FC will host Nashville SC, and the first 10,000 fans at Bank of America Stadium will receive foam finger goalkeeper gloves.
