A return to Darlington and a Throwback Weekend makes for a special trip for Forest Acres product Jordan Anderson

The history of the Darlington Raceway is not lost on Midlands product Jordan Anderson who had two cars on the track in Saturday’s race.

DARLINGTON, S.C. β€” Forest Acres product Jordan Anderson continues to hold down his position as Xfinity Series owner, team spokesman and unofficial team photographer. His team returned to the Darlington Raceway with drivers Jeb Burton and newcomer Blaine Perkins competing in the Sport Clips Haircuts VFW Help A Hero 200.

Burton finished 15th in the AJ Transport throwback paint scheme that honored his father, Ward. Perkins came home 28th in the Capital City Towing Chevrolet.

Anderson spent many days as a youngster watching races at the Darlington Raceway, and each time he comes back to that track, Anderson has a special feeling that, quite frankly, only comes from looking back fondly at his time as a race fan with a dream of competing in NASCAR.

While Anderson still gets behind the wheel occasionally and perhaps could increase his role as a driver one dayβ€”after all, he is the ownerβ€”his main job is sitting on top of the pit box during the races, hoping all the cars come home in one piece while continuing to plot a course for the future as Jordan Anderson Racing Bommarito Autosport continues to chase its second win in the Xfinity series.
