Carolinas PGA Section honors Sunny Hutchinson with fellowship



CHARLOTTE, N.C. β€” As the PGA Championship continues at Quail Hollow Club, the PGA of America is looking to foster the next gropu of leaders in the golf industry.

PGA WORKS is a strategic initiative within the PGA of America REACH Foundation.Β 

It seeks to help equip the next generation of leaders.

In 2023-24, it had an 82% placement in the golf industry.

For 8 years, the Carolinas PGA Section has carried the legacy of Sara “Sunny” Harris Hutchinson with a fellowship named in her honor.

The daughter of club President Johnny Harris, Hutchinson passed away unexpectedly in 2018 at the age of 43.

This year’s Sunny Harris Hutchinson PGA Works Fellow is University of Illinois graduate Cami Terkildsen.

“Her enthusiasm, her commitment to the game of golf,” Terkildsen said of Hutchinson. “And her connection here. Very excited to be connected with the family, they’ve been so welcoming to me. I can only hope to live up to Sunny’s legacy.”
