This year’s theme is “Luxury Cigar Lounge,” pairing the rustic aesthetic with a welcoming environment for prospects and their families at the NFL Draft.
CHARLOTTE, N.C. β This year’s NFL Draft will be held in Green Bay, but every player who graces the stage during the first round will get a taste of the Queen City when their name is called.Β
Clayvon Lowe, the senior director of product design and trend at Lowe’s, created a special space for prospects and their families at this year’s event. The Charlotte-based executive says it started with a simple them and grew from there.Β
“Our theme this year was a luxury cigar lounge,” Lowe explained. “We wanted to create a space using this refined rustic aesthetic, but also wanted to make sure that it was inviting and elevated at the same time.”
The design team focused on comfort, knowing draft night represents a milestone event with nerves at an all-time high for prospects. All furniture and dΓ©cor featured in the green room are available on Lowes’ website.Β
Erin Jahn, senior director of hospitality and events at the NFL, praised the collaboration with their long-term partner.
“We elevated this experience in the green room space,” Jahn said. “It’s such a memorable thing for these prospects and their families, and we’re so glad that they get to experience this moment of solace before they go on stage and walk into this next chapter of their life.”
The furniture used in the draft green room will be donated to Habitat for Humanity of Greater Green Bay and the local Homestead community after the event.
Lowe, who shares his surname with the company but joined as an employee 13 years ago, emphasized that the products used in the space are designed for football fans at home.
“As the draftees walk across the stage, you can draft these products from Lowe’s.com for your space,” Lowe said, highlighting features like Stainmaster area rugs with three-year stain resistance warranties that make them ideal for hosting game day gatherings.
