Lake Norman Little League makes history with first state title win



LAKE NORMAN OF IREDELL, N.C. β€” For the first time in their history, Lake Norman Little League won the North Carolina State Championship.

That means the 12U All-Star team will represent the state in the Southeast Regional Tournament of the Little League World Series.

β€œThis marks a historic moment for our league,” league president Jerri Shephard said. β€œOver the years, our league has experienced great success, but this incredible group of players has taken it to the next level.”

The team will first play on Thursday, July 31 against West Virginia in Warner Robins, Georgia.

The winner of the Southeast Regional championship will advance to play in Williamsport, Pennsylvania.
