NASCAR postpones Cook Out Clash at Bowman Gray Stadium due to snow

The Clash is now scheduled for Wednesday, Feb. 4, due to winter weather in Winston-Salem.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. β€” NASCAR has postponed the Cook Out Clash at Bowman Grady Stadium to Wednesday night due to the impacts of winter weather in Winston-Salem, the sanctioning body announced Sunday.Β

The move comes after NASCAR postponed all Saturday on-track activity to Sunday due to the storm. NASCAR originally pushed the race to Monday, but heavy snow across the region forced the event to be moved to Wednesday. Over a foot of snow fell in some locations near Winston-Salem and Greensboro.Β

“This event is for the fans, and the fans at The Madhouse are some of the most passionate fans in all of sports,” said Justin Swilling, Project Lead, Cook Out Clash. β€œMoving the Cook Out Clash to Wednesday, Feb. 4 gives us the best opportunity to hold this event with fans at Bowman Gray Stadium while allowing the City of Winston-Salem to dedicate all of their resources to respond to the needs created by this historic weather event.”

NASCAR Cup Series qualifying is set for 1:30 p.m. Monday with live coverage on the Fox Sports app. The Last Chance Qualifier is scheduled for 4:30 p.m. Monday, with the main event, the 200-lap Cook Out Clash, set for 6 p.m. The last chance qualifer and Clash feature event will be televised by FOX.Β
