It’s the first Pro Bowl selection for Horn, who is in his fourth season.
CHARLOTTE, N.C. β Carolina Panthers cornerback Jaycee Horn immediately knew the first person he wanted to tell about his Pro Bowl selection.
“[My dad] really wanted me to make it,” Horn said to the media in the locker room on Thursday. “He had been talking about it for the last month.”
Horn’s call was received well by his father, who knows a thing or two about the Pro Bowl — and coincidentally NFL phone calls. Horn’s father is four-time Pro Bowl receiver Joe Horn, a former standout with the New Orleans Saints who pulled one of the wildest celebrations ever after revealing a hidden cell phone after a touchdown in a 2003 game.
Jaycee Horn was among the NFC starters named for the 2025 Pro Bowl on Thursday. It’s the first Pro Bowl nod for Jaycee Horn. Both he and his dad believe it’s long overdue.
“It feels good, but I feel like I should be on my third or fourth [Pro Bowl] by now,” Horn said. “I got a lot of catching up to do and a lot more work to put in. I could be a way better player.”
The Panthers cornerback has had a stellar season defending passes. Traditional stats show Horn has one interception, 68 tackles, and 13 deflected passes. Advanced stats, though, show Horn’s real output. Horn is second among cornerbacks who have at least 70 targets in incompletion percentage. He’s also allowed the sixth-fewest yards on receptions among cornerbacks with at least 70 targets.
Horn is consistently ranked among the best cornerbacks in Pro Football Focus’s various categories.
The cornerback has been on the field for 98% of the Panthers’ defensive snaps this season. Carolina’s defense has been on the field more than any other team this season.Β
Horn’s consistency at defending passes is a bright spot on the Panthers’ defense as the team is 38 points away from breaking the NFL record for most points allowed in a season. He’s hopeful that he can continue to improve and receive additional accolades.
“I’m just excited to get back next year and try to stack them up,” Horn said.
Guard Robert Hunt, punter Johnny Hekker, and running back Chuba Hubbard were the other Panthers players named as Pro Bowl alternates.Β
The Panthers’ final regular season game is against the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday.
