CHARLOTTE, N.C. β Hosting its third marquee golf championship in a decade, Quail Hollow Club isn’t satisfied just participating now and then.
Club president Johnny Harris wants to keep the course, and city of Charlotte, in the mix for years to come.
He was again ambitious in his comments 76 days before Quail Hollow hosts the 2025 PGA Championship, the second time its hosted the major in eight years.
“I think we would want them to come back, we hope they’ll come back,” Harris said. “We want to be part of the game for a long time to come. We have become part of the game. We are not just a golf club, we are a club that’s in the fabric of how the game is going now and how it’s moving and growing.”
The event returns to Quail Hollow Club from May 12-18.
In 2017 at the course, the event set hospitality sales records, and organizers expect to reset the mark this May.
“It’s a sports city but more importantly the Carolinas is a hotbed of golf,” Jason Soucy, the championship director, said. “It’s not surprising me we’re breaking all the records. We are actually ahead of schedule right now.”
Key changes this year include rideshare dropoff that will allow patrons to take an Uber or Lyft onto the property, a pedestrian bridge allowing for safe access to the course for those walking, and “championship plus” ticketing.
Championship and grounds tickets include food and non-alcoholic beverages at all concession venues.
“We do golf dawn til dusk, you could potentially have three square meals out here complimentary,” Soucy said.
The 2025 PGA Championship is sold out of Saturday tickets, but there are still limited availability for other competition days.
