RJ Davis reflects on career with Tar Heels

UNC comeback bid falls short vs. Ole Miss

MILWAUKEE β€” RJ Davis sat at his locker at Fiserv Forum in Milwaukee and reflected on a five-year career full of ups and downs.

He was asked what it would be like to take his Tar Heels jersey off for the last time.

“It’s going to hurt,” Davis said. “I know I won’t be putting this jersey on anymore.”

Davis did his best to lead the Tar Heels to another furious second-half rally, this time against Ole Miss in the first round of the NCAA Tournament.

But just like it did against Duke in the ACC Semifinals, UNC came up short against the Rebels, marking the end of a rollercoaster of a season.

Davis ends his career at UNC as the program’s second-leading scorer, the second-leading scorer in ACC history, and played the most games of any Tar Heel. Ever.

“My time here was the best time of my life,” Davis said. “The five years I spent here, I wouldn’t want to be anywhere else. This has been one hell of a ride and one hell of a career.”
