Ticket options enhance PGA Championship’s Quail Hollow experience

CHARLOTTE, N.C. β€” Saturday tickets for the PGA Championship’s return to Quail Hollow Club sold out about a year ago.

But there are still tickets available for Thursday’s opening round and Sunday’s final round.

“Oftentimes the Championship Director says we’re having a great party, too bad you can’t come,” Jason Soucy, the Championship Director said. “Luckily there are still a few tickets remaining on Sunday and Thursday for competition rounds.”

This year’s event offers unique ticket options, such as Championship+ passes. Ticketholders with plus tickets have already paid for their food and non-alcoholic beverages at the course, making for a transaction-free day.

“It is 100 percent transaction-less,” Soucy said. “You have the ability to go pick your entree, your snack, your non-alcoholic beverage, walk on out and there you go. You’re out there watching the best players in the world.”

There’s no doubt the best in the world have returned to Quail Hollow, with this year’s PGA Championship featuring 29 major champions.

“Our track record of history and competition, as recently as last year (at Valhalla),” Soucy said. “This is one of the four times of the year where all the best players in the world that don’t necessarily play on the PGA Tour, get together and compete.”

Quail Hollow is a “big ballpark” as they say. So where’s the best place to watch golf? Soucy has a preference.

“We’ve got a couple of unique things,” Soucy said. “Elijah Craig’s speakeasy is right behind No. 7 green. It’s such a picturesque hole. Right around the corner is our market for No. 1 fairway.”

And if you can’t get to Quail Hollow this year, you can still be a part of the PGA Championship with a pop-up shop in Uptown.

“This week, 10a-8p, every day of Championship rounds, there’s a pop-up shop at Victoria Yards (209 E 7th St.),” Soucy said. “It’s open with Quail Hollow Club and PGA Championship signature logo merchandise.”
