Charlotte honors John Lewis with Good Trouble marches



CHARLOTTE, N.C. β€” Folks across Charlotte joined together Thursday to honor the legacy of Congressman John Lewis. Thursday marks five years since Lewis’s death.Β 

In recognition of this impact, community marches were held in the Charlotte area and beyond called Good Trouble Lives On. It’s a reference to a phrase Lewis was known for: Get in good trouble.Β 

Throughout the Charlotte area, people gathered at 22 locations to get their message across. Β 

“We’re here to stand up and speak out and encourage other people to stand up and speak out in the spirit of John Lewis, make good trouble,” one protester in attendance said. “We’re here to make good trouble and encourage other people to do the same.”
