Interstate Batteries has been a primary sponsorship of Joe Gibbs Racing since the team’s inaugural season in 1992.
CHARLOTTE, N.C. β Joe Gibbs Racing announced it has extended its decadeslong partnership with primary sponsor Interstate Batteries, keeping the company’s iconic green livery on its cars for years to come.Β
Interstate Batteries, based in Dallas, Texas, has been a part of Joe Gibbs Racing since the team’s debut in 1992, serving as a primary sponsor on the organization’s NASCAR Cup Series and Xfinity Series entries. Interstate Batteries will appear in five races in 2025, with Christopher Bell piloting the No. 20 Interstate Batteries Toyota Camry XSE four times. Ty Gibbs will have sponsorship from Interstate Batteries at Nashville Superspeedway in June.Β
βWhen we first began our partnership with Joe Gibbs Racing in 1992, we had around 120,000 dealers comprised of service stations, garages and car dealers that sold our batteries, but we didnβt have a national reputation,” Norm Miller, chairman emeritus of Interstate Batteries, said. “Joe Gibbs Racing gave Interstate Batteries national recognition. Joe was still in the NFL and coaching in Washington, and then Dale Jarrett delivered our first win together in the first race of our second season.”
Bell will have the signature green paint scheme on his No. 20 car at the season-opening Daytona 500. He’ll also close the season with Interstate Batteries sponsorship at Phoenix Raceway.Β
βWe wouldnβt be where we are as a race team without the support from our founding partner, Interstate Batteries,β team owner Joe Gibbs said. βTo think weβre now well into our fourth decade together speaks to how special our partnership has been and the relationships weβve built with everyone at Interstate Batteries. Iβll be forever grateful to Norm and Tommy Miller, who gave us a chance when we didnβt have a building, cars or even employees. We are blessed to continue to work with great people like Lain (Hancock) and his entire team. There are few partnerships that have stood the test of time like Joe Gibbs Racing and Interstate Batteries.β
