CHARLOTTE, N.C. β The Minnesota Vikings have reached out to express interest in trading for Carolina Panthers wide receiver Adam Thielen, according to multiple reports.Β
Thielen, who turned 35 on Friday, spent the first decade of his career with the Vikings before signing with the Panthers in 2023. ESPN’s Adam Schefter first reported the news on Friday morning.Β
Thielen missed seven games due to injury last season, but still led the team in receiving yards and touchdowns. He finished second on the team in receptions with 49.Β
It makes sense on the surface for Minnesota to consider a reunion with Thielen, as he’s familiar with the team’s offense, he’s a Minnesota native and would naturally fill the void created by Jordan Addison’s three-game suspension to start the season. For Carolina, trading the veteran would signal that general manager Dan Morgan is all in on rookie Tet McMillan and second-year player Xavier Legette.Β
